The medical outreach will be a big relief for many in a region where citizens cannot afford the cost of such surgical operations.

The Medical Director of CB Dunbar Comprehensive Hospital, Dr. Moses Beyan, has disclosed that the hospital will start a free medical outreach program in Gbarnga, Bong County, early next month.

Dr. Beyan said the outreach aims to provide essential surgical care to patients suffering from hernias, thereby improving their quality of life and reducing the burden of untreated hernias in the region.

The Medical Director of C B Dunbar Hospital further noted that the free medical outreach will start on April 3 to April 8, 2025.

Additionally, he said the hospital will collaborate with Liberia Physicians and Surgeons Without Borders (LPSWB) to carry out the medical outreach.

He emphasized that an international surgeon from Spain will be part of the pending surgery.

Dr. Beyan said that the free hernia surgery campaign will be held at the government-run C. B. Dunbar Government Hospital, while the medical outreach will be held at Palala.

However, according to him, the medical team will consist of highly skilled professionals from different specializations.

According to Dr. Beyan, Senator Prince Kermue Moye of Bong County is sponsoring the upcoming outreach.

In March 2024, Bong County Legislative Caucus Chairman Senator Prince K. Moye sponsored or provided free medical treatment for ailing residents in the County.

Senator Moye said the initiative was intended to respond to the critical health needs of the County’s residents.
