Monrovia, Liberia, June 8, 2025: A Liberian-owned Koufa Consortium, in collaboration with African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU), boosts the education sector of Liberia by the launch of the first premier comprehensive preparatory training programs and testing centers for ACCA, CIA, CFE, and IPSAS exams, setting a new benchmark for professional development across the country.

According to Koufa Consortium, the newly inaugurated testing centers will help to curb challenges professionals and students encounter while seeking standard examinations.

Giving a brief overview and history at the official launch held at the AMEU graduate school auditorium on June 4, 2025, Koufa Consortium consultant Mr. Emmanuel S. Mars said the entity is a forward-thinking consultancy firm that is headquartered on 9th Street in Sinkor, Monrovia.

Established in 2024, Mr. Mars said the institution delivers high-quality, innovative and resource-driven consulting services to both local and international clients operating within the Republic of Liberia and beyond.

He said Koufa Consortium is dedicated to transforming Liberia’s professional landscape by empowering the next generation of business leaders through a unique blend of technical expertise and professional development, as well as offering comprehensive solutions designed to meet both present needs and long-term career and business growth.

“So, as we have all gathered here today, we at Koufa Consortium remain very proud to partner with the AME University, and more to that, we are also proud to begin what today will be recognized and known popularly to become Liberia’s first testing center, and that of a comprehensive preparatory training program as it relates to preparing local candidates who are aspiring to sit the ACCA examinations, the CIE examinations, the CFE examination, including the IPSAS and other professional globally recognized certifications” he explained.

He further announced that the official launch has set a new benchmark as it relates to professional development of Liberians who are aspiring to pursue studies in accountancy, auditing, financial management, and beyond.

“As part of our commitment to this vision, the Koufa Consortium recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the AME University, precisely on May 6, 2025, to help professionalize accountancy, financial management, and audit practices within the Republic of Liberia”, he said.

He detailed that through the partnership with the AME University, they aim to deliver high-quality instructor-led training programs that are specifically designed to prepare Liberian-based candidates for globally recognized professional certifications, including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, abbreviated as the ACCA; the Certified Internal Auditors, abbreviated as CIA; the Certified Fore Examiner Exams, abbreviated as the CFE; and the International Public Sector Accounting Standards, abbreviated as IPSAS, among a host of other professional globally recognized certifications.

For his part, the president of the AMEU University, Rev. Dr. Alvin E. Attah, said it was with great pride and excitement that the university marked the beginning of a transformative partnership between Koufa Consortium and the AME University.

“For this launch of our first comprehensive preparatory training programming and testing center is more than a ceremony. It is a powerful step forward in aligning education with real-world demands. In a rapidly evolving global economy, academic knowledge alone is no longer sufficient”, Dr. Attah said.

He disclosed that the job market increasingly requires specialized practical skills that can immediately add value in professional environments. Through this collaboration, we aim to bridge that gap.

Dr. Attah revealed that Koufa Consortium brings huge potential to the partnership, noting a global network of industrial experts, a commitment to excellence, and a vision for practical hands-on learning. Together with the academic strength and deep committed roots of AME University, ‘we are poised to offer the requisite training and standardized testing services that will empower professionals alike to obtain certifications, such as the ACCA, the CIA, and the CFE, thus making Liberians more marketable in this ever-competing age’, he added.

“This is not just about acquiring certificates. It is about gaining confidence, building capacity, and opening new doors of opportunity to become a professional in your chosen field.”

He cautioned students in accounting and other relevant fields to take advantage of the programs, saying so to the students and other individuals who will take this journey with us, you are the reason why we’re here. Invest in your learning, stretch yourselves, ask questions, and apply what you learned.

He underscored that the future belongs to those who are prepared, and with the right tools, they will not only participate in that future but will lead that future, expressing, ‘To our partners and our supporters, thank you for believing in this vision.’

The Chairman of Concessions at the House of Representatives, Foday Fahnbulleh, thanked Koufa Consortium and the AME University for the partnership in establishing the testing center.

“I think it’s necessary for such an environment in our country. And at the level of the legislature, we’ll give our full support in whatever way to ensure that we can achieve the best in our country, which can be seen as the best in Africa”, Rep. Fahnbulleh said.

The launching ceremony was graced by scores of government officials from line ministries, agencies, and commissions, including members of the banking sector, members of the Liberian legislature, and students, among others. Editing by Jonathan Browne
