Liberia: Bong County Superintendent Hawa Norris Faces Criticism Over Failed Beans Project

Gbarnga – Bong County Superintendent Hawa Norris is facing mounting criticism over a failed beans cultivation project, which was approved as part of her hundred-day deliverables.

The project, which was allocated a substantial sum of $100,000 by the Bong County Council, aimed to promote beans farming across the county, but has yet to be harvested or reported on.

Several district commissioners, including James Gborkoquie of Kpaai District and David Karjue of District #2, have confirmed that the project was unsuccessful. They attribute its failure to what they describe as administrative errors and the lack of adequate research before its implementation.

During the announcement of her hundred-day achievements, local residents voiced their disapproval of the project.

Many expressed concerns that the funds should have been redirected toward initiatives that would have had a more direct benefit for the people of Bong County, rather than investing in a beans cultivation venture that failed to yield results.

Despite numerous efforts by FrontPageAfrica to seek clarification, Superintendent Norris and her team have remained silent regarding the current status of the beans project and the reasons behind its collapse.
