MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP), through its weekly Police Report program aired on ELBC Radio 99.9 FM, has released an update detailing recent criminal incidents and safety advisories across the country. The July 18, 2025 edition was hosted by Deputy Commissioner Cecelia G. Clarke and featured a live interview with Assistant Commissioner of Police Abraham E. F. Dorley, Commander for Grand Cape Mount County.
In Grand Bassa County, an unidentified person was discovered dead beneath a 30-pound metal within the AML Concession Area in Buchanan City. Authorities have preserved the body as investigations continue to determine the victim’s identity and cause of death.
River Gee County reported two serious cases. One-year-old Mary Folee tragically drowned after falling into a creek while attempting to cross a narrow plank in the New Settlement Community. She was pronounced dead at Fish Town Referral Hospital and later released to her family for burial. In a separate incident, suspect Alberta Williams was arrested for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman, Martha Baryee, leading to a miscarriage. Baryee remains hospitalized, while Williams is in custody pending further investigation.
Grand Cape Mount County is grappling with the death of two-year-old Abubakai Faikai. His body was found in an 85-meter pit in Daniel’s Town. A 15-member coroner jury confirmed foul play, and four individuals have been arrested in connection to the case. According to Commander Dorley, the suspects will be forwarded to court as investigations proceed.
In Gbarpolu County, Ghanaian national Stephen Kudzi was arrested for allegedly pouring hot water on victim Ophelio Zizana in Gborkata Town. Zizana is receiving treatment at Emirates Hospital.
Montserrado County also recorded a violent incident in Ratt Town, New Matadi Estate, where suspect Varney Kiandolo was arrested for allegedly stabbing Alex Blama to death and injuring Elijah Miller and Jessy Bris. Blama’s remains are at JFK Mortuary, while the injured are undergoing medical treatment.
The LNP also used the platform to emphasize crosswalk safety. Pedestrians were urged to use marked crossings, stay alert, and avoid distractions. Drivers were reminded to slow down near crosswalks, yield to pedestrians, and stay especially vigilant in school zones.
Deputy Commissioner Clarke concluded with a safety reminder: “The life you save today could be your own, or that of someone you love.” The Liberia National Police continues to urge all citizens to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activity as investigations into all reported cases remain ongoing.
