Police sources confirmed that “Prophet Key” is currently being held for 48 hours pending investigation and is expected to be forwarded to court for further prosecution.

The alleged offense is related to documents filed with the NEC, though authorities have yet to specify the nature of the falsification. The police have indicated that the matter is being treated as a criminal offense under Liberia’s election laws.

This development comes in the wake of growing scrutiny around the NEC’s vetting process for electoral aspirants, particularly in light of increasing allegations of irregularities tied to candidate documentation.

Earlier reports by local media had raised questions about Prophet Key’s eligibility and the authenticity of his supporting documents submitted during the registration process for an upcoming election. Those concerns have now escalated into formal charges, resulting in his detention.

This is a developing story.
