Liberia: Tragic Road Accident Claims Several Lives, Survivors in Critical Condition

A devastating accident at the Boy’s Town intersection along the Monrovia-Buchanan Highway has claimed multiple lives, including well-known local driver called “Small Driver” and several passengers.

The crash occurred on Sunday when a truck collided with the taxi driven by Small Driver, causing severe damage to the vehicle. Small Driver, a familiar figure in the local transport sector, died on the spot. His passing has left many in mourning, as he was highly regarded by passengers and colleagues alike.

Among the victims was Ruth Vah Benson, who was traveling with her children. Family sources confirm that Ruth, recently served as Maid of Honor at her sister’s wedding on February 11, 2025, was on her way to Buchanan after receiving news of her brother’s serious illness. Tragically, Ruth and her two children did not survive the crash.

Ruth’s sisters, Hannah Vah Nelson and Naomi Vah, were also in the vehicle but survived with severe injuries. Hannah, who was married just a month who ago, is in critical condition and receiving intensive medical care, while Naomi is also being closely monitored by doctors.

The accident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many expressing deep sorrow over the loss of beloved family members and friends. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash as the community mourns this heartbreaking tragedy.
