Liberian News: LNP Releases Three Months Disciplinary Actions Report

Monrovia-The Liberia National Police (LNP) says it remains steadfast in its commitment to professionalism, integrity, and accountability. In a release issued in Monrovia by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cecelia G. Clarke said following investigative reports from the Professional Standards Department, the LNP has taken disciplinary actions against several officers involved in misconduct, negligence, and violations of ethical standards.

Summary of Disciplinary Actions:

For the financial indebtedness violations, the release said Insp. Wolobah Johnson & Patrol Lady Sangai J. Kollie – Suspended indefinitely without pay for failing to adhere to promissory notes regarding financial indebtedness, constituting abuse of authority under Section 6.1 of the Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards.

For falsification of Police Clearance Documents, the release said C/Insp. Samuel S. D. Nepay II (ID#5704) – Suspended for two months without pay and reassigned for falsification of official police clearance documents, violating Sections 5.1(p) and 6, Count 22.90(b) of the Administrative Instructions.

Also, Patrol Lady Sweetlee M. R. Flumo (ID#5540) – Suspended for one month without pay for participating in unauthorized processing of a police clearance document, violating Section 3.1 of the LNP Duty Manual.

Superintendent Amos Kollie & Cpl. Godwin J. Sudue – Exonerated due to lack of misconduct and insufficient evidence.

For the action of unsatisfactory Conduct & Neglect of Duty – (Rivercess County Incident), ACP Duotay Serker (LNP-2717) – Suspended for two months without salary and relieved from post for issuing an unlawful order, leading to the collapse of the ITI Bridge on December 30, 2024. Violates Section 7(p) & Section 8.4 of the LNP Disciplinary Regulations (2016).

At the same time, Insp. Eric Zor (LNP-2059) – Suspended for one month without pay and relieved from post for accepting $15,000 Liberian dollars and implementing an unlawful order, violating unsatisfactory conduct guidelines.

Police Misconduct & Criminal Actions

CIP. Johnny C. Sargbah – Interdicted and forwarded to the Crime Services Department for investigation regarding the stoning and damaging of the Lifeline Ministries Int’l building. Violates Sections 9.3(h) & 9.4(a) of the LNP Disciplinary Regulations (2016).

Superintendent Lexington Beh – Suspended indefinitely without pay for unlawful detention and assault of Miss Patience Wulu. According to Spokesperson of the Liberia National Police, the officer must provide full restitution of medical expenses before reinstatement.

In additional Misconduct Cases the release said Patrolman Esther L. Flomo (ID#4162) – Suspended indefinitely without pay for failing to account for entrusted US$200. Full restitution required for reinstatement.

Insp. Alieu B. Kamara – Disrobed and suspended for two weeks with salary deduction for wrongful accusations.

Sgt. Eric B. Suo – Suspended for one to two months with salary deduction for gross insubordination.

Patrolman Ishmael K. Benjamin – Suspended one month without pay for allegedly receiving $50 Liberian dollars from an unknown source.

Patrolman Henry G. Momo – Suspended one month without pay for desertion of post.

Patrolman Alieu A. Kenneh (ID#5793) – Dismissed and forwarded for investigation for unauthorized firearm discharge, resulting in injury. Violates Section 8.1(e) of the LNP Disciplinary Regulations (2016).
