MONROVIA – The Management of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has confirmed the arrest of G. Baccus Karpeh, Assistant Manager for Research and Statistics in the Loss Prevention Department, following the issuance of a valid arrest warrant from the Monrovia City Court. The arrest took place on June 4, 2025, and was carried out by joint security officers in accordance with the warrant signed by Judge Ben Barco.
In a formal statement released on June 5, 2025, LPRC clarified that the arrest was legitimate and lawfully executed. Management stated that upon presentation of the legal writ, the company complied fully with law enforcement officers and permitted the arrest without resistance. LPRC also emphasized that while they respect the rights of their employees, the company cannot obstruct legal processes or judicial mandates.
The management underscored its commitment to upholding the rule of law, adding that any failure to comply with a legal writ amounts to obstruction of justice, something LPRC will not tolerate under any circumstances. At the same time, the company reiterated that it values its workforce and remains committed to ensuring the safety and legal protection of all employees.
LPRC noted that it will continue to monitor the legal proceedings involving Mr. Karpeh, who remains entitled to due process under the law. The arrest has sparked internal concern but management has urged calm, assuring staff and stakeholders that the matter is being handled in line with national legal standards.
