Police investigate 2 mysterious deaths in Maryland

Maryland, Liberia, June 9, 2025-The Liberia National Police has launched an investigation into unexplained deaths of two prominent residents of Manolu community, Harper City.

The mysterious deaths of the two individuals have left locals in shock and fear.

Manolu is a town in Karluway Statutory District, Maryland County that witnessed the mysterious deaths of 26-year-old George K. Nah and 64-year-old Daniel D. Charlie.

According to Karluway District Police Commander, Samuel T. Brown, the late George K. Nah is believed to have drowned in a nearby creek on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Commander Brown disclosed that on May 31, 2025, at about 11:30 a.m., he received a call from one Mr. Wahmle Elliott, reporting that the deceased had gone to wash at a creek known as Bort.

He was later discovered unconscious by a man named Henry Nyemah. But upon the Police arrival on the scene around 2:45 p.m., the victim was pulled out of the water and pronounced dead by Wlewon Kollie, Officer-in-Charge of the Manolu Clinic.

Family sources in the area alleged that the late George Nah had a history of epilepsy.

Following a thorough examination by a 12-man jury, his remains were released to the family for burial.

At the same time, the body of a 64-year-old Daniel D. Charlie was found hanging from a tree on Saturday under circumstances yet to be explained, as investigation goes on. Editing by Jonathan Browne
