Sinoe, Liberia, March 14, 2025—Sinoe County Senator Clayton O. Duncan has written the Liberian Senate to summon the Managing Director of the National Port Authority, Sekou Dukuly, to speak on the deplorable condition of the Samuel Alfred Ross Port of Greenville City, commonly known as the Port of Greenville, Sinoe County.

The Senate Committee Co-chair on Ways, Means and Finance, in his communication addressed to Senate President Pro-Tempore, Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, read in open plenary, highlights the deplorable state of the Port of Greenville.

Senator Duncan notes that, given the enormous contributions the Port of Greenville makes to the national economy annually, it does not deserve to be in such an appalling condition.

“Madam President Pro-Tempore and Distinguished Colleagues, under the circumstances and given the improvement needs of the Port of Greenville, I respectfully request this Honorable Plenary to summon the Managing Director of the National Port Authority to provide justification for the deplorable condition of the Port, to unfold his plans for its improvement, if any, and to discuss the possibility of Sea Port Infrastructures Investment at the Sea Port of Greenville through the PPP or JV Operations for the Rehabilitation and Management of the Port of Greenville”, he requests. Editing by Jonathan Browne
