Ahead of the climax of a month-long period of fasting and praying, the Liberty Investment Company Liberia Limited has identified with thousands of Muslims in district # 17, Montserrado county.
Liberian Muslims have joined their counterparts around the world to observe Ramadan. Ramadan is the Islamic holy month of fasting and praying.
With barely few days to the end of fasting and praying in observance of Ramadan, the Liberty Investment company presented270 bags of 25kg rice, 270 sacs of mineral water, over 50 cartoons of milk and mixed coffee to about 27 mosques in the district.
Some of the mosques that benefited from the gesture include: Vai Yard, Siaka Sheriff, Thwhid, and Masjid Arahim mosques.
Others are: Sheriff Gas Station central mosque, Tyre Shop Community Mosque and Iron Gate Central Mosque, amongst others.
Making the presentation to the beneficiaries over the weekend, the company’s Human Resource Manager Boakai Sirleaf, disclosed that the gesture was the company’s own way of identifying with Muslims during this period of fasting and praying.
He encouraged Muslims to continue to render prayers for lasting peace and stability in Liberia and peaceful co-existence amongst its citizens.
He said the beneficiaries should continue to pray for Allah to have mercy upon the nation and its people
“The management of Aqualife is identifying with all the mosques in our community. What we have brought here is the same we have taken to other mosques. Aqualife company is for all of us because, everybody can drink water. So today, we know that we are in the last ten days of the fast and we have brought this small thing for you people to break your fast and continue to pray for our country,” he stated.
He appreciated Muslims for the commitment, sacrifices and unceasing prayers while staying in their respective mosques during last night hours praying for Allah’s forgiveness, guidance and protection upon Liberia and its citizens.
“When you are praying here in the day and night, don’t forget to pray for the nation, the company and employees and let’s pray for ourselves also so that our today and tomorrow can be bless by Allah,” he noted.
For their part, the beneficiaries heaped praises on the company for the donation.
They recalled that the gesture was not the first of its kind from the Liberty Investment Company, especially during the time of Ramadan.
“First of all, we want to say thank you to the Aqualife family. Last year, they did the same thing. We are so much happy for this kind gesture. May Allah bless the owners of the company and those who are working there,” Imam Mohammed Sheriff of Sheriff Gas Station Central Mosque noted.
They, however, pledged to distribute the donated items to their respective worshippers prior to the celebration of Ramadan.
“Wherever you took this from may Allah add more there; may Allah bless us and our activities, our children, mothers and others,” Musa Momo, Secretary General of the Masjid Arahim Mosque noted.
