YEKEPA, Nimba County, July 29, 2026 – ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) has graduated 60 supervisors and senior officers from its 3D and 4D Shop Floor Enhancement and Management Program, part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening leadership, teamwork, and operational performance across the company.
The certification ceremony, held on July 10 in Yekepa, marked the first phase of a company-wide leadership development program that will eventually train about 1,800 employees.
Representing General Manager Jallah Selmah, Mines Contract Administration Specialist Baysah Korvah congratulated the graduates and urged them to apply the knowledge gained to improve productivity, strengthen teamwork, and drive positive change within their departments.
“Knowledge, no matter how little, can create significant change when applied with sincerity, commitment, and purpose,” Korvah said. He encouraged participants to mentor colleagues and share what they had learned, stressing that collaboration strengthens both teams and the organization.
Environmental Manager Ann-Carol Leach reminded graduates that the success of the program would be measured by improved leadership, stronger decision-making, and better workplace performance rather than by the certificates awarded.
“The opportunity you have received comes with responsibility,” Leach said. “The real measure of success is not completing the training, but demonstrating improved performance, stronger leadership, and better decision-making in your daily work.”
Facilitator Anthony Paul Wanjohi encouraged participants to lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, effective communication, and teamwork.
“Every positive change within an organization begins with individuals who choose to lead by example,” Wanjohi said.
Learning and Development Manager Roosevelt Richards said the 60 graduates represent the first cohort in one of AML’s largest internal capacity-building initiatives. He disclosed that the company intends to train approximately 1,800 employees under the program and will monitor participants’ performance to ensure the training produces measurable improvements in leadership, productivity, safety, and operational efficiency.
“Our goal is to ensure that the learning translates into measurable improvements in leadership, teamwork, productivity, safety, and overall operational performance,” Richards said.
Learning and Development Superintendent AB Pobuwolo Towaye thanked the facilitators and emphasized that the program was designed to produce lasting improvements in teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and overall performance.
He urged graduates to return to their departments and demonstrate the leadership, discipline, and professionalism needed to improve operational effectiveness.
The 3D and 4D Shop Floor Enhancement and Management Program forms part of ArcelorMittal Liberia’s ongoing investment in developing a skilled Liberian workforce capable of supporting operational excellence, strengthening the company’s safety culture, and advancing the long-term success of its mining operations.
