Senator Cyrus Fulfills Campaign Pledge to Women’s Football

MONROVIA— Lofa County Sen. Momo Tarnuekollie Cyrus has fulfilled a campaign pledge to support the development of women’s football by donating his financial entitlements from the Liberia Football Association Executive Committee to the women’s game.

Cyrus, who also serves as an LFA Executive Committee member, pledged during this year’s LFA elections to reinvest 100% of his earnings from the position, including sitting fees and allowances, into the development and promotion of women’s football.

The initial donation was presented Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, in Monrovia by Roland M. Mulbah, who coordinated Cyrus’ campaign for the LFA Executive Committee position and serves as secretary-general of LFA First Division club Gardnersville FC.

Mulbah told the head of the Women’s Football Association that the funds represented Cyrus’ entitlements from his first two LFA Executive Committee sittings.

He said Cyrus intends to donate all future financial entitlements from the position to women’s football, in keeping with the pledge made during his campaign.

Mulbah urged the Women’s Football Association to use the funds strictly to promote and develop women’s football in Liberia. The donation is being presented as part of Cyrus’ broader commitment to strengthening women’s football and promoting greater investment in the sport.
