Aspiring Representative for Montserrado County District #9, Sie D. Anderson, has launched a community-based back-to-school initiative aimed at supporting school-going children and easing financial burdens on parents across the district.

The distribution effort began on Sunday, September 13, 2026, with Anderson supplying essential learning materials to local children as part of his ongoing community outreach ahead of the 2029 legislative elections. The initial phase targets five selected students per locality across multiple neighborhoods, including West Point, Lakpazee, Old Matadi Estate, People United Community, 20th Street, New Matadi, and Fredericks’ Island, with plans to expand into additional communities in subsequent phases.

The distributed educational packages include book bags, copybooks, pencils, and fundamental learning supplies designed to provide immediate relief to families preparing for the upcoming academic year. Speaking during the engagement, Anderson emphasized that supporting children’s education is vital for national development, describing Liberian youth as highly capable individuals who require consistent community backing to realize their potential.

Addressing community members, Anderson noted that citizens and aspiring leaders must actively complement state efforts, remarking that the government cannot address every societal challenge alone. He asserted that leadership requires demonstrating commitment to residents long before seeking elected office, highlighting that his ground-level engagements in District #9 began several months ago to better understand local priorities.
