MONROVIA, October 1, 2026 — The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) will begin Executive Budget Hearings for Fiscal Year 2027 on Thursday, October 1, marking another stage in the Government of Liberia’s national budget formulation process.
The hearings, coordinated through the National Budget Committee (NBC), will provide spending entities an opportunity to present and justify their proposed programs, priorities, expenditure requirements and planned activities for FY2027.
According to the Ministry, the exercise is consistent with statutory requirements for consultations with spending entities on their programs, commitments and budgetary priorities ahead of the preparation and submission of the draft National Budget to the Legislature.
The opening session will feature the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee (SPPCC) and the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC).
The institutions are expected to present their proposed programs and activities, justify their budget requests and respond to questions regarding implementation plans, priorities and resource requirements.
The hearings are scheduled to continue through Friday, October 9, 2026, covering a broad range of government ministries, agencies and other spending entities.
The MFDP says the exercise is intended to promote transparency, accountability and inclusive budget planning while helping government align available resources with national development priorities under the ARREST Agenda.
