Fedolph Marshall, the Liberia Basketball Association’s 2025 First Division MVP, has joined NPA Pythons on a short-term deal for the Road to BAL qualifiers.

MONROVIA — Fedolph Marshall, the 2025 Liberia Basketball Association National First Division Most Valuable Player, has joined reigning champions NPA Pythons on a short-term deal as they prepare for the Road to the Basketball Africa League 2027 qualifiers in Tripoli, Libya.

Marshall, who has been training with the Port Boys, joins former Spartacus player Austin Akpejiori as reinforcements for the Liberian champions ahead of their West Division Group B campaign.

The Pythons open Wednesday against Benin’s Energies BBC, face Ghana’s Spintex Knights on Thursday and close the group stage against Guinea’s Nabaya Basketball on Friday.

\n

Marshall’s arrival comes as the Pythons face a registration setback that reportedly ruled out two key players due to age restrictions.

\n

The group was reduced to four teams after Sierra Leone’s Red Flames and Burkina Faso’s AS Douanes withdrew. The top two teams advance to the Elite 16 stage.

\n

The Pythons qualified by beating LPRC Oilers 46-38 in the deciding fifth game of the league’s National First Division finals, after the best-of-five series was tied 2-2.

\n

Marshall won the league’s 2025 MVP award with LPRC Oilers. His experience is expected to strengthen the Pythons as they try to advance beyond the group stage.

\n

The Pythons last competed in the 2019 Road to BAL qualifiers in Cotonou, Benin.

\n

Nabaya’s roster includes former Mighty Barrolle player Omar Samba. He helped Barrolle win the 2024 league championship and played a key role in its Road to BAL campaign, which ended at the Elite 16 stage in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The Road to BAL is the qualifying pathway to the Basketball Africa League, Africa’s premier professional club competition, organized in partnership with the NBA and FIBA Africa.
