Atty. Grigsby Praises Senator Duncan For School Bus Donation To Greenville, Sinoe County Students

GREENVILLE, SINOE COUNTY – Atty. Teklo Maxwell Grigsby has publicly commended Senator Crayton O. Duncan for donating three school buses to transport students in Greenville City, Sinoe County, to and from school free of charge. The donation, announced on Saturday, September 6, 2025, was met with loud cheers from parents and community members, who hailed the gesture as a “dream come true” for families facing daily transportation challenges, particularly during the rainy season.

In a statement issued the same day, Grigsby praised Senator Duncan for addressing a critical need in the county’s education sector. “This gesture is laudable and worth our collective commendation,” he said. Grigsby added that, had he been elected in the 2023 elections, providing transportation for students would have been a priority of his own agenda. He welcomed the Senator’s prompt action to fill this gap, emphasizing that it demonstrates genuine commitment to the welfare of the people.

Reflecting on the 2023 elections, Grigsby recalled facing stiff opposition from major county stakeholders, including Senator Duncan, Senator Chea, senior officials from the previous administration, and other local leaders. Despite these challenges, the people of Greenville City overwhelmingly supported him. “I was astonished given the very powerful opposition against my candidacy without any party support, but I realize that the people of Greenville City yearn for development and better living conditions more than any part of the county,” he said.

Grigsby also urged other county leaders, especially the current Representative for District #1, to emulate Senator Duncan’s intervention. He pointed out that nearly 24 months have passed since the 2023 elections, yet the district representative has failed to implement or report any projects for the constituency, despite budget allocations for legislative projects in 2024. “We demand accountability and better representation from the district Representative for the remainder of the four years moving into 2029 because our people deserve better,” Grigsby said.

The bus donation is expected to ease students’ daily travel, ensuring they can attend school consistently and safely. Community leaders hope that this initiative will inspire other lawmakers and local officials to undertake tangible projects that improve the lives of residents in Sinoe County.
