BCU Boosts IT Education with 40 Computers

MONROVIA, October 13, 2026 — Bong County University (BCU) has provided 40 computers and four air conditioners to its College of Information Technology, paving the way for the expansion of its computer laboratories from two to six.

The equipment was provided following a request from the college’s Dean, Ridwan Mansaray, as part of efforts to strengthen practical technology education and improve learning conditions at the university.

Presenting the equipment, BCU Vice President for Administration, Rev. James Saybay, said the additional computers would enhance students’ access to practical training and create a more conducive learning environment.

He disclosed that the 40 computers would facilitate the establishment of four additional computer laboratories, increasing the university’s existing facilities from two to six.

According to Saybay, the expansion is intended to accommodate more students and improve access to computers for practical lessons, a critical component of information technology education.

The initiative comes as the university works to improve academic facilities for its approximately 4,000 students.

The provision of air conditioners is also expected to improve conditions in the computer laboratories, supporting both students and instructors during practical sessions.

The investment forms part of BCU’s broader efforts to strengthen technology education and equip students with relevant digital skills.

With the planned expansion, the university expects to provide more opportunities for hands-on learning and better prepare students for further studies and employment in the growing technology sector.
