Harper, Maryland County – A 27-year-old resident of Hance Street Community, Adolphus Weah, miraculously survived an attempted murder on March 1, 2025, in Harper District, Maryland County. Weah, who works as a bike rider, was hired by two unidentified individuals to take them to a village near the Harper-Pleebo Highway.

Eyewitnesses to the incident reported that during their journey, the trio stopped at a farm where they met a local woman. The two suspects inquired about a man they were looking for, but the woman informed them that the man had left the area years ago and she had no further information about his whereabouts.

After leaving the farm, the situation took a dangerous turn. One of the suspects suddenly produced a knife and attempted to stab Weah. The rider, however, saw the knife approaching his head in the rearview mirror and quickly reacted by grabbing the blade, resulting in a deep cut to his hand. A violent struggle ensued as the two men attempted to overpower Weah, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

In the chaos, one of the suspects managed to steal Weah’s motorbike, but after fleeing a short distance, dropped it and ran off in an unknown direction. An eyewitness, who was passing by on his motorbike, heard the struggle and alerted others. “While fighting for his life, another bike rider heard the noise and informed us,” an eyewitness recounted. “We rushed to the scene, but by the time we arrived, the suspects had escaped.”

Weah was rushed to the J.J. Dossen Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he is currently being attended to by medical personnel. His motorbike was later recovered and is now in the custody of the Liberia National Police.

The Harper District detachment of the Liberia National Police, through Frederick T. Smith, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspects are still on the run. “The allegations are true, and we are doing everything we can to compile a comprehensive report,” Smith said. “The victim is receiving medical attention at J.J. Dossen Memorial Hospital, and we are working diligently to apprehend those responsible for this violent act.”

Smith also appealed to the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals connected to the case. “We encourage citizens to remain vigilant and assist law enforcement with any information that may help us in this investigation.”

As the search for the suspects continues, the community remains on edge, hoping for justice and security in the region.
