Bong County, September 8, 2025: The senator’s remarks follow a landmark peace and unity dialogue organized by the Bong County Citizens in the Americas, which brought together Senator Moye, Representative Marvin Cole, and Representative Eugene J. M. Kollie.
For months, the three lawmakers have been embroiled in political disputes since the start of the Joseph Boakai administration, a feud many citizens believe stalled progress and fractured leadership in the county.
Addressing residents in Gbarnga over the weekend, Senator Moye emphasized that reconciliation among political leaders is critical to unlocking Bong County’s full development potential.
“Our coming together marks a new chapter for peace, collaboration, and progress in Bong,” he said. “Leadership must be about service to the people, not endless conflict. We owe it to our citizens to work together in their best interest.”
The senator reaffirmed his commitment to service delivery, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development. He emphasized that while political disagreements are inevitable, they must never overshadow the shared responsibility to improve the livelihoods of people across Bong County.
Several residents and stakeholders of Bong County have hailed the reconciliation as a significant breakthrough. They described it as a “positive turning point” that, if sustained, could foster greater cooperation among leaders and help address the county’s most pressing challenges, including poor road connectivity, inadequate health services, and gaps in the education sector.
Community leaders further expressed hope that the unity pact will not remain a symbolic gesture but will translate into concrete actions that directly benefit citizens.
As Senator Moye and his colleagues move forward, many Bongese say they are watching closely, hopeful that the renewed spirit of peace will usher in tangible development and restore confidence in the county’s political leadership.
