Monrovia- Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia has had a one-day strategic dialogue with Representatives from 14 media outlets.
FrontPage Africa, Daily Observer, The New Dawn, The News, OK Fm Radio were among several media institutions that attended the event.
Chengwu introduced the China-Liberia relations, the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.
Also Ambassador Chengwu highlighted
commemorative activities marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the Establishment of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed).
The Chinese Ambassador also outlined China’s position on the Taiwan question.
Yin emphasized that China is willing to earnestly implement the guideline of President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter to the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and promote more fruitful cooperation between China and Liberia.
Ambassador Chengwu also praised the Liberian government for the level of friendship -something he says is based on mutual respect.
In response, the Liberian Journalists at the event, in separate voices commended the Chinese Embassy for level of support given to the media.
Over the years, the Chinese Embassy in Liberia invited several media colleagues to china for both long-term and short-term capacity building training.
