CNDRA Denies Corruption Allegations, Calls media Report Deceptive – Global News Network Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia: Contrary to what certain media outlets claim, the Center for National Documents and Records Agency does not have a corruption web.

The allegation highlighted by Voice of Liberia BITZ and PIECES afternoon show on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, is deceptive, malicious, and untrue.

These unfavorable media rumors are malevolent plots of disinformation and misinformation designed to harm the National Archives of Liberia’s reputation.

Neither Gabriel N. Domah, the Deputy Director General for Administration, nor D. Nelson Bearngar, the Director General of CNDRA, has ever opened a private account for the agency with GT Bank Liberia.

CNDRA operates a transitory account at GT Bank that was opened during the administration of former president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf years ago under a revenue-sharing agreement for the agency’s operational costs.

It was approved by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) and Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) for the smooth operations of the National Archives.

Under the revenue-sharing agreement reached, 60% goes to LRA while 40% goes to the CNDRA consolidated account.

Funds used from the agency’s consolidated account are reported to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning every quarter, and it goes through various government spending systems, which is in accordance with the PFM and PPCC laws.

Meanwhile, the Center for National Documents and Records Agency is admonishing the media to be the watchdog of society and play a more professional role to avoid disinformation.
