Mr. Sam Gaye, the Director of the Executive Protection Services, has given Mr. Lenn Eugene Nagbe, the Chief of Staff of former President George Weah, 48 hours to publicly retract accusations and defamatory statements he made against him.
Monrovia, April 10, 2025: Amidst growing tension between the EPS Director and the office of former President George Weah, EPS Director Gaye, through his legal team headed by former Associate Justice Cllr. Kabineh M. Ja’neh has given Mr. Nagbe 48 hours to publicly retract recent accusations and defamatory statements he made against the EPS boss.
Mr. Nagbe in a recent interview on Ok FM, publicly revealed the bad blood between the office of former President Weah and the office of the EPS boss, when he alleged that Director Gaye has a photo in his bedroom depicting ““a gun at former President Weah”.
In his letter dated Wednesday, April 9, Mr. Gaye wrote through his lawyers: “We refer to the substantial accusations you made on March 31, 2025, against Mr. Sam Gaye during an interview on O. K. F.M. conducted by Julius Jeh.
In the referenced interview, you accused Mr. Gaye of having a photo in his bedroom depicting “a gun at former President Weah.”
This avalanche of defamatory utterances and accusations against Mr. Gaye, although totally untrue, have nevertheless resulted to an inestimable public shun of Mr. Gaye’s reputation, both nationally and internationally.
In view of the foregoing, we are most respectfully demanding PUBLIC RETRACTION of these accusatory and defamatory utterances, within 48 (forty-eight) hours as of the hour and date of receipt of this communication.”
Mr. Nagbe is yet to respond to the letter requesting that he publicly retract his accusatory and defamatory utterances against the EPS boss.
He told the New Dawn Wednesday evening that he had just received the letter and forwarded same to his lawyers to respond.
“I just received the letter an hour ago. My lawyers will respond, and I will send my response to the media,” Mr. Nagbe said.
Meanwhile, in that same interview, Mr. Nagbe accused Gaye of being an unprofessional and incompetent leader, saying that his decisions are often based on hearsay rather than fact.
Nabe also described Gaye as a “you say, I say Director” who cannot effectively lead the EPS.
Nagbe described Gaye as a “You-Say and I-Say Director” who cannot lead the EPS effectively, while making several other allegations.
Mr. Gaye had since denied the allegations and told Nagbe to prepare to substantiate his claims. The letter could be the beginning of such battle.
