GBARNGA, Bong County, September 25, 2026: Families of three people killed in a July 2026 road accident in Bong County are pursuing legal action as police in Gbarnga prepare to charge two drivers allegedly involved in the fatal crash.
The victims have been identified as Zack Mongor, Manager of Kpatawee Waterfall, Melissa Holder and Hezekiah Jorkeh.
The two drivers, vehicle owners and relatives of the deceased appeared at the Liberia National Police headquarters in Gbarnga for preliminary questioning as investigators continued to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Police are expected to charge the two drivers and forward the case to court for further legal proceedings. Details of the specific charges were not immediately available.
The drivers have not been convicted of any offense, and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain subject to police investigation and court proceedings.
The families said they are seeking accountability through the legal process for the deaths of their relatives.
The case has also renewed attention to the responsibilities of motorists and vehicle owners when road accidents result in deaths.
For the families of Mongor, Holder and Jorkeh, the decision to pursue legal action means the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash will now be addressed through the justice system as police move to submit the case to court.
