Five victims, including a child, have been recovered from the wreckage of a tragic accident along the Roberts International Airport highway on Sunday afternoon.
The devastating incident occurred in Boys’ Town Township, leaving the community in shock and mourning. The victims were trapped inside a commercial taxi that was pinned beneath a ten-wheel yellow dump truck as bystanders desperately attempted to free them for more than half an hour.
An elevation crane later arrived at the scene and successfully lifted the truck off the wrecked taxi, aiding residents in recovering the victims. The four victims were immediately rushed to the 14 Military Hospital for urgent medical attention. It’s still unclear whether they were more than four.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the accident.
