TUBMANBURG, BOMI COUNTY — The Ministry of Information is holding its latest Government Town Hall in Tubmanburg City, Bomi County, on October 9, 2026, advancing ongoing efforts to bring governance closer to citizens and deepen public dialogue on national development.

The highly anticipated event is centered on the theme: “Beyond the Boom: Transparency, Value Addition and Sustainable Fiscal Impact under the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).”

This edition of the town hall places special focus on the national mining sector and its role in economic growth, framed around the topic: “From Extraction to Transformation: The Role of the Mining Sector in Liberia’s US$1 Billion Revenue Milestone.”

The forum comes at a critical juncture as Liberia seeks actionable ways to translate its rich natural resource wealth into tangible benefits for local communities, citizens, and the broader economy. It offers an open platform for the public to gain insight into revenue generation, transparency protocols, value addition, and the long-term fiscal impact of mining activities.

A high-level panel discussion will feature key representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP), the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), and other prominent actors across the mining and public finance sectors. Together, panelists will explore strategies to transition the nation from basic resource extraction toward local processing, higher domestic revenues, and sustainable economic transformation.

For the residents of Bomi County and neighboring regions, the town hall provides a direct avenue to interact with decision-makers, voice local concerns, and question officials on resource management. The Ministry of Information encourages citizens, community leaders, youth representatives, women’s groups, civil society organizations, and local business owners to attend and participate actively.

As the government continues to push its national development agenda forward, the Tubmanburg Town Hall aims to reinforce a core message: citizen participation, operational transparency, and strong accountability are vital to ensuring Liberia’s natural wealth drives inclusive, long-term national progress.
