Sinoe County, Liberia, April 2, 2025 – Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) has completed construction works on its Tartweh clinic, catering to health needs of employees and community members. This is the ninth health facility operated by GVL across its concession areas in Sinoe and Grand Kru counties.
The company in a press release, says it provides free healthcare to employees, dependents and the public in these areas.
The Tartweh clinic, which was opened on October 21, 2024, employs over 7 professional staff and is equipped with essential drugs and other medical materials.
At an opening ceremony, community members lauded GVL for the construction of the health facility. Nunu Broh, former chair of Community Representative Committee (CRC), said “We are happy that our people no longer have to travel far away for treatment. They can now receive medical care right here in Tartweh. This is a very significant step because seeking treatment elsewhere was a major problem for our community.”
To date, GVL has constructed health facilities in Kpanyan, Garraway, Tarjouwon North and South and several health posts in Sinoe and Grand Kru with professional health workers catering to the health needs of workers and communities. The company also operates four ambulances in both counties for emergencies and referral to larger clinics and hospitals. GVL spends more than US$10,000 monthly for drugs at these health facilities.
Prior to GVL’s establishment in southeast Liberia, citizens residing in these areas lacked accessible healthcare facilities. This posed grave risks especially, for the critically ill and pregnant women due to long distances they had to travel to get to government clinics and hospitals.
GVL also supports clinics with medical and non-medical materials and compensates staff for services provided to its employees where the company does not have a clinic. Press Release
