Doesweh, Bolloh Statutory District, Grand Kru County – February 16, 2025 – A domestic dispute in Doesweh has taken a violent turn, leaving a 45-year-old man with severe injuries and his wife facing serious charges. Adolphus Norris was allegedly attacked by his wife, Patricia Wesseh, who is accused of slashing his genitals with a razor blade upon his return home after being absent for several days.
The incident occurred in the early hours of February 16, according to the Liberia National Police (LNP). Norris returned to their home in the Doesweh community after an absence, reportedly triggering a jealous rage in Wesseh. She allegedly attacked him with a sharp object, believed to be a razor blade, inflicting significant injuries to his testicles.
Police investigators, led by Inspector Darpo Karweah and Jerome Wesseh, responded to the scene. Wesseh reportedly confessed to the assault, claiming her actions were fueled by jealousy over her husband’s extended absence. She alleged he had been sleeping away from home for several days, leading her to believe he was unfaithful. Wesseh expressed regret for her actions and pleaded for mercy, acknowledging the severity of the situation.
Residents of the Doesweh community reported that Wesseh had previously accused her husband of cheating and neglecting his marital responsibilities, citing his frequent absences as unbearable and emotionally devastating.
Wesseh has been charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder and is currently detained at the Barclayville Police Headquarters pending trial. Norris is receiving medical treatment at a nearby clinic for his injuries.
The incident has shocked the local community, prompting authorities to urge the public to consider the emotional consequences of domestic disputes. The LNP has assured the public that justice will be served and that the case will be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.
