Ldea Seizes Massive Drug Consignment In Brewerville Operation

MONROVIA – The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA), backed by officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP), on Thursday, September 18, 2025, launched a sweeping anti-drug operation that led to one of the largest narcotics seizures in recent years.

The raid took place in the Peace Land community of Brewerville, Montserrado County, where security forces stormed a residence believed to be a hub for drug storage and distribution. According to eyewitnesses, the neighborhood was cordoned off early in the morning as LDEA agents moved in with reinforcements from the police.

Authorities confirmed that more than three pickup truck loads of narcotics were confiscated during the operation. While the exact street value has yet to be officially disclosed, preliminary assessments suggest the consignment is worth millions of dollars.

Residents of Peace Land expressed both shock and relief at the bust, with many describing the targeted residence as suspicious but noting their fear of speaking out. “We always saw strange movements at night,” one resident said, requesting anonymity. “But we were afraid to say anything because these people seemed powerful.”

The LDEA has not yet released the identities of suspects linked to the drug consignment, but officials assured that investigations are ongoing to dismantle the network behind the massive seizure.

This latest bust underscores the growing challenge Liberia faces in confronting the drug trade, which continues to undermine public safety and destabilize communities. Authorities say further details on arrests and prosecutions will be made available as the investigation progresses.
