A small coastal state in Western Africa, Liberia has a young and growing population of almost 5 million people. But poverty is widespread, especially in rural areas. And agriculture remains the primary source of income for two thirds of the population.

IFAD’s projects in Liberia aim at helping poor rural people to durably improve their livelihoods and food security. That’s what happened to Hawa, Grugbey and Mariam.
