Born blind, Victoria faced numerous challenges, but never let them deter her from pursuing her dreams. Her story is one of inspiration and hope for many in Liberia and beyond. Now a college graduate, Victoriawas born blind and grew up in both Nimba County and the NeZoe community, in Monrovia. She was was raised by parents who are both visually impaired.

Despite her visual impairment, she excelled in her studies, achieving and maintaining B+ grades throughout high school.

KEEP-Liberia got connected with Victoria in 2015 through the Destined Kids Assistance Program, a local nonprofit organization that seeks for students from underprivileged backgrounds to support with tuition assistance and establishes meaningful connections. Since that cosmic connection, Vicky as she is affectionately called, has been a part of the KEEP-Liberia family.

Victoria attended the Liberia School of the Blind, where she learned to write Braille and acquired essential life skills. Her determination to succeed was evident from a young age, and she was supported by her family, friends, and the community.

In 2022 Victoria’s hard work and perseverance paid off when she graduated from High school. But she didn’t stop there, with the support of KEEP-Liberia, she immediately enrolled at the LICOSES Teachers college.

While enrolled in College, Victoria interned at KEEP’s head office where she serves as Office Support, taking office minutes, planning meetings, supporting in program activities as well as leading on engagements with the various girls and young women groups KEEP works with.

Victoria has become proficient in using computers, enabling her to access and utilize digital resources for her work and advocacy efforts.

As a passionate advocate for young people living with visual disabilities in Liberia, she raises awareness about the challenges they face and promotes inclusive policies and programs. Victoria is also a strong proponent of girls’ education, emphasizing the importance of providing equal opportunities for girls to learn and succeed.

In February 2025, Victoria successfully completed all the requirements of the Teachers College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree In Teachers Education, making her the first in her entire family to complete college.
