He says to ensure successful implementation of these initiatives, China will provide RMB 360 billion to Africa in financial support in three years, of which 80 billion will go towards assistance in various forms.

He notes that last year, President Xi Jinping and President Joseph Nyuma Boakai announced that the bilateral relations between the two countries be elevated to strategic partnership.

He adds that this strategic consensus charts the course of and injects new impetus into bilateral relations.

“It involves solid and mutual support, and this agreement is just a perfect example. Chinese side will work closely with Liberian side to implement the agreement, translating the presidential consensus into concrete actions, and serving the overarching interests of our two peoples”, Ambassador Yin stated.

The Ambassador says he is confident that this agreement will be a great boost to the practical cooperation between the countries and will be conducive to the implementation of Liberia’s ARREST Agenda of Inclusive Development.

“Today’s agreement is about assistance, and the agreed-upon funding will be allocated to projects jointly determined through bilateral consultations, with the shared objective of fostering peace, stability, prosperity, and sustainable development in Liberia. Today’s agreement is beyond assistance, it’s also about partnership. Once making the pledge to a partner, China will honor it. The agreement represents a significant step in realizing the consensus reached by our two heads of state”, he underscores.
