President Boakai extends an open invitation for President Mason to visit Liberia in the near future, noting the importance of further high-level engagement.
Monrovia – President Joseph Boakai on Tuesday formally received the Letter of Credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of Barbados to Liberia, Madam Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland, marking a deepening of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The official credentialing ceremony took place at the Executive Mansion and was attended by Liberia’s Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Sylvester Grigsby, and other senior government officials.
Following the presentation, President Boakai expressed gratitude to the Government of Barbados and its President, Dame Sandra Prunella Mason, for strengthening bilateral relations.
“Ambassador, we welcome you to Liberia, and we thank your President for sending you. Your coming to Liberia is a blessing,” President Boakai said.
He also extended an open invitation for President Mason to visit Liberia in the near future, noting the importance of further high-level engagement.
“We want to extend this toast in honor of your President. We look forward to seeing her in Liberia as soon as possible,” he added.
Ambassador Bynoe-Sutherland, in her remarks, thanked the Liberian government and people for the warm welcome.
“On behalf of the President of Barbados, I present this letter of credence to you. We bring greetings and best wishes from the people of Barbados to the people of Liberia,” she said.
Diplomatic relations between Liberia and Barbados were formally established in 2024 during a historic ceremony in Accra, Ghana. The event was led by then Foreign Minister Nyanti and Madam Juliette Babb-Riley, Head of Mission of the High Commission of Barbados.
