According to police, the Wea was discovered inside the building, and when officers attempted to remove him, he reportedly used pepper spray against them.

The enforcement of the eviction order began early Saturday, with major structures already torn down. Among them are the CDC’s mini museum, which housed plaques, historic party materials, T-shirts, and other regalia, as well as the Muna E. Pelham Young Blood Vocational School.

Officers, including mask-wearing Sheriffs, were seen using crowbars and other tools to break through the main headquarters as demolition intensified.

Update: This story has been revised to reflect the correct title of the man allegedly caught with the firearm. He is William C. Wea, former Commissioner of West Point Township.
