The initiative, held over the weekend, brought together staff from Phebe Hospital, CB Dunbar Hospital, and supporters of the Unity Party’s Bong County Chapter, which Minister Morris also serves as Chairman.

Speaking to FrontPage Africa, Deputy Minister Morris said the campaign was designed to enhance hygiene, ensure patient safety, and foster a healthier environment at two of Bong County’s most critical healthcare facilities.

According to Deputy Minister Morris, the collaboration between the Ministry of Health and local hospitals serves as a model for future community-based health interventions.

“We are here to join hands with the folks at Phebe Hospital to clean the two hospitals to eradicate sicknesses that pose a threat to both patients, especially those in critical conditions, and caregivers,” said Minister Morris. “Good sanitation must be a priority in a hospital area.”

The clean-up exercise focused on cleaning and disinfecting the hospital premises, improving waste management, and beautifying the hospital grounds.

Minister Morris emphasized that the campaign aligns with the Ministry of Health’s goals to improve healthcare standards and facility management across the country.

She assured staff at both hospitals that Health Minister Dr. Louise Kpoto is deeply concerned about the conditions of medical facilities in Bong County and remains committed to meaningful improvements.

“This campaign is part of our ongoing strategy under the leadership of Minister Kpoto to promote quality healthcare and maintain cleaner, safer environments in all health facilities,” Deputy Minister Morris added.

The initiative was met with appreciation from the Phebe Hospital administration, which welcomed the support from Deputy Minister Morris and highlighted the campaign’s impact on morale.

“We are grateful to Deputy Minister Morris for her support and efforts in ensuring our hospital provides a clean and safe environment for everyone,” the administration said in a statement.

Health officials believe such initiatives will help cultivate a culture of cleanliness, improve service delivery, and contribute to a more welcoming healthcare environment.
