Monrovia-The Liberia National Police (LNP), through the Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police for Operations, has reaffirmed that it maintained peace and protected all parties involved during Saturday, August 23, court-ordered evictions.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, ClIr. J. Nelson Freeman, Deputy Police Director for Operations, said the Liberia National Police outlined the role played by police officers during a recent court-sanctioned eviction exercise.
“We provided and maintained public order to prevent violence, riots, or disturbances between the evicting party and the occupants,” Freeman wrote.
“Our officers ensured the safety and protection of lives and property, including those of the landlord, tenants, neighbours, and court officials.”
He noted that the LNP’s involvement was in full compliance with the law, and the eviction was carried out under the authority of a valid court order.
“We enforced the law by ensuring that the eviction was carried out strictly in line with a valid court order or legal mandate, thereby preventing any illegal or forced eviction,” he added.
Freeman used the platform to highlight the LNP’s broader mission and operational principlesemphasisingng transparency, professionalism, and community collaboration.
“Our mission is to strengthen public trust, ensure law and order, and provide timely, accurate information on police operations,” the post continued.
“We strive to engage the public openly, promote safety awareness, and work collectively with citizens to build a peaceful and secure Liberia.”
He added that the Liberia National Police will continue to encourage the public to respect the rule of law and support ongoing efforts to foster a secure and orderly society.
