With results tallied from 682 out of 736 polling places — representing 92.66% of the total vote — Kogar has secured 56,706 votes, accounting for 51.43%. Gongloe-Weh follows with 38,454 votes, or 34.87%.

In a statement released Thursday, Gongloe-Weh acknowledged the outcome and commended Kogar on his performance at the polls. “I extend my sincere congratulations to Hon. Samuel Kogar on his election as Senator of Nimba County,” she said. “The people have spoken, and as a democrat, I respect their decision.”

She also expressed gratitude to her supporters, campaign team, and the people of Nimba for their encouragement throughout the election period. Gongloe-Weh encouraged continued civic participation and pledged to remain active in efforts to promote accountability, development, and democratic governance in the county.

The NEC is expected to announce the final results in the coming days. If confirmed, Kogar’s election will mark his transition from the House of Representatives to the Liberian Senate, signaling a significant shift in Nimba County’s political representation.
