The incident occurred on Saturday while Doloquee, along with other journalists, was interviewing Minister Piah. During the interview, reporter Doloquee posed a question regarding the absence of Vice President Jeremiah Koung, who was expected to attend the ceremony but did not. The question reportedly angered the Minister.

According to the reporter himself, Minister Piah demanded that Doloquee delete photos and videos recorded during the interview. The Minister can be heard in an audio recording demanding Doloquee to delete every photo and video he recorded. When the reporter refused, the Minister seized his phone, and personally deleted several photos from the device.

As of the time this report was filed, the phone belonging to the FrontPage Africa reporter was still in the possession of Minister Piah.
