Monrovia — Atty. Isaac Jackson has called on the public to remain calm and allow law enforcement authorities to conduct what he described as a fair and objective investigation into the tragic death of Mrs. Toni Jackson.
Jackson, who previously served as Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization and is a nephew of veteran Liberian public figure Sam Jackson, made the appeal in a statement shared on social media amid rising speculation and allegations surrounding the circumstances of Toni Jackson’s passing.
The former diplomat said the Jackson family remains deeply grieved by the loss, while also urging the public to allow the appropriate legal processes to determine the facts surrounding the incident.
“We are profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of our beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Toni Jackson, a woman many affectionately called our Zulu Queen,” Isaac Jackson said.
“Toni was a remarkable young professional whose warmth, intelligence, and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She carried herself with dignity and kindness, and she possessed a generous spirit that endeared her to family, friends, and colleagues alike. Our uncle, Sam Jackson, loved Toni deeply, and she equally loved him in return. Their marriage reflected a bond of devotion and shared commitment that many people admired. Her untimely passing has created an immense void that words alone cannot adequately describe.”
Jackson explained that the loss has been emotionally devastating for both families and those who knew Toni personally. He stressed that while the grief remains overwhelming, the family believes the situation should be addressed through proper investigative channels rather than through speculation on social media.
“As we mourn this heartbreaking loss, we want to clearly state that we stand in solidarity with all victims of domestic violence and abuse everywhere,” he continued.
“Acts of violence against women, men, girls, or boys—whether in the form of physical abuse, rape, or sodomy—are deeply disturbing and must always be condemned without hesitation. At the same time, we believe that every serious allegation deserves to be addressed through credible institutions and verified evidence. The truth must be determined through a careful, professional, and objective investigation conducted by the relevant authorities, not through emotional commentary or assumptions circulated online.”
According to Jackson, the controversy surrounding the case intensified after news of Toni Jackson’s death began circulating widely on social media platforms, where several commentators and influencers started raising accusations against Sam Jackson.
He said the allegations, some of which have come from individuals reportedly familiar with the family, have generated intense public discussion and concern. However, he emphasized that such claims must be examined responsibly by law enforcement agencies.
“The genesis of the current situation can be traced to the period shortly after Toni’s passing, when certain social media influencers and commentators began publicly alleging that our uncle may have been responsible for circumstances related to her death,” Jackson explained.
“These statements quickly spread across social media platforms, fueling widespread speculation and emotional reactions from the public. While we understand that people are concerned and want answers, it is crucial that allegations of this magnitude be addressed through lawful investigative procedures. At this moment, the matter is under the jurisdiction of the police authorities, who have the mandate to gather evidence, assess the facts, and determine the truth in accordance with the law.”
Jackson urged the public to exercise patience while the investigation continues, warning that the spread of graphic images or unverified information could harm both the investigation and the grieving families.
“We respectfully appeal to members of the public, especially users of social media, to act with restraint and compassion during this very difficult time,” he said. “Circulating sensitive or graphic materials connected to Toni’s death only deepens the pain of those who are already mourning. Furthermore, sharing unverified claims can compromise the integrity of the ongoing investigation and potentially influence public perception before the facts are properly established.
