Bishop Padmore stated that the Bong County senator’s support was essential in constructing what will be the first Lutheran Cathedral outside Monrovia.

The honor acknowledges Moye’s contributions to both the church’s infrastructure and spiritual growth, as well as his political achievements in Bong County since 2011.

“This honor is a call to greater service to the church and humanity,” Bishop Padmore told Senator Moye during the ceremony.

Moye, who attended St. Mark’s Lutheran School during his early education before moving to William V.S. Tubman Gray High School, expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue supporting the church’s development.

“My contribution to the church is based on the role the church played in my life,” Moye said. He committed an additional $5,000 to continue the construction of the church edifice.

This recognition follows last week’s ceremony where Moye was crowned and certified as the political “Godfather” of Bong County by the Prophetic Call to Ministry Like Mind Pastors at the Dominion Christian Fellowship Center in Gbarnga.

Bishop Minikon E. Nyenpan, president of the organization, urged Moye to use his influence to further unite the county and organize a county-wide reconciliatory conference to foster collaboration among all political figures in Bong County.

Moye’s political career began in 2011 when he was elected Representative for Jorquelleh District Two, securing 80 percent of the vote. His political influence grew with his re-election in 2017 and his appointment as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2018.

In 2020, Moye made history by becoming the first candidate in Bong County to win all seven political districts, securing 50 percent of the vote in the senatorial race.

He later served as National Campaign Chair for Joseph Boakai’s successful 2023 presidential bid, helping secure key government positions for Bong County natives.
