Liberia National Police Charges Teacher For Assaulting Officer In Sinkor

MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has formally charged Mrs. Klady A. Paul, a 67-year-old classroom teacher, for assaulting a police officer while he was performing his national duty.

According to a press statement issued on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and signed by DCP Cecelia G. Clarke, Spokesperson for the LNP, the incident occurred on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at approximately 7:15 A.M. at the 12th Street, Sinkor intersection. Mrs. Paul reportedly approached Patrolman Koilous N. Larmin in a hostile and disruptive manner, verbally attacking him and other officers on duty before escalating to physical aggression. During the altercation, she assaulted Patrolman Larmin and damaged a government-issued police communication radio.

Following a full investigation, Mrs. Paul has been charged under the Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia with Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief, and Disorderly Conduct. She has since been forwarded to court for prosecution.

In the statement, the Liberia National Police emphasized its commitment to accountability and the protection of officers performing their duties. “We commend Patrolman Larmin for his resilience, professionalism, and restraint during the incident,” the statement read, highlighting that his conduct reflects the discipline expected of law-enforcement personnel and the improvements in service delivery across the country.

The LNP also stressed that there is zero tolerance for any form of assault, disrespect, or obstruction directed at officers in uniform, affirming that the law will be enforced without fear or favor.
