Liberia News: NOCAL Boss Pulled Out

 

Monrovia-Madam Rostalyn Suakoko Dennis has been pulled out of her position as President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) with immediate amid hovering corruption allegation, though there are reports that the alleged transaction she is linked to was approved by the Board of NOCAL.

The President’s decision follows a resolution of the Board of Directors of NOCAL recommending Madam Dennis’ suspension and an investigation into the allegations.

Not only is Madam Dennis is suspended, she has also been ordered to turn over all government properties in her possession to the interim team headed by Mr. Fabian Michael Lai, NOCAL’s Vice President for Operations, who will assume interim oversight of the Company’s operations.

A statement announcing her suspension quoted officials as reaffirming the Government commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance in all sectors, particularly in the management of the country’s natural resources.

An investigation of the allegations against Madam Dennis has been ordered.

She might have as well as follow the same fate of others before her who were suspended for corruption allegations and other malfeasances and did not return to government.
