Melewon traveled to Saclepea to deliver money to his father. Upon arrival, he used counterfeit currency to pay for transportation, raising suspicion. The motorcyclist, with help from local money exchangers, reported the incident to authorities, resulting in Melewon’s arrest.

Police found multiple counterfeit bills on Melewon, who appeared distressed at the time of arrest. He told investigators he was trying to exchange money to cover transport costs but has not explained how he obtained the fake bills.

Authorities are investigating whether Melewon is linked to a larger counterfeiting operation. He is currently detained in Saclepea and will face court on Monday.

Residents have expressed concern over the rise of counterfeit currency, calling on police to strengthen efforts to combat fraud and protect the local economy.

Police urge anyone with information about the case to come forward to support the ongoing investigation.
