In a heartfelt interaction, President Boakai met with Mrs. Cleopatra Grigsby, the widow of the late Minister, and their daughter, Miss Mayumi Grigsby. The Liberian leader conveyed his profound sympathy and solidarity, describing Minister Grigsby as “a true patriot and statesman whose invaluable contributions to Liberia will be forever remembered.”
President Boakai praised Minister Grigsby’s legacy of service, integrity, and commitment to national development, noting that his passing was a loss not only to his family but to the entire nation.
“We are grateful that you shared your beloved husband and father with the Liberian people,” President Boakai said. “Liberia will always honor his memory, and his legacy will continue to inspire us.”
The President assured the family that the Government of Liberia remains committed to preserving Minister Grigsby’s legacy. He also informed them of plans to hold a national memorial in Liberia in honor of the late Minister, giving the nation an opportunity to collectively pay tribute to his distinguished service.
The meeting underscored President Boakai’s deep respect for public servants and the sacrifices made by their families in the course of national duty.
