MONROVIA — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the development of football in Liberia during a meeting with the leadership of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) at the Executive Mansion.
The LFA delegation, led by President Mustapha I. Raji, also included 1st Vice President Prof. Sekou W. Konneh, 2nd Vice President Hon. Saye-Taayor A. Dolo, Executive Committee Member Mr. Pawala Janyan, and General Secretary Mr. Emmett Crayton.
President Boakai highlighted football’s role in promoting national unity and youth empowerment, stating that his government views the sport as a key driver of social and economic development. “Football serves as a unifying force that brings our people together and offers a pathway to personal and national development,” he said.
He pledged to work closely with the LFA to strengthen infrastructure, talent development, and support systems across the country.
LFA President Raji welcomed the President’s support and outlined ongoing initiatives, including expanding youth leagues, improving coaching standards, and pursuing international partnerships to raise the level of football in Liberia.
