Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. is expected to deliver a landmark lecture at the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute, located within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Friday.
According to a Foreign Ministry’s release, the Liberian leader will address students, foreign service personnel, and members of the diplomatic corps on the government’s flagship development blueprint—the ARREST Agenda—and outline Liberia’s current foreign policy priorities.
This high-level engagement marks President Boakai’s first official visit to the Institute since assuming office as President of the Republic of Liberia. His lecture will set the stage for the launch of the inaugural Ambassadorial Lecture and Seminar Series, a new initiative designed to broaden diplomatic discourse and intellectual exchange among Liberia’s foreign service community.
Following his lecture, the President will tour the Institute’s classrooms, library, and language laboratory, showcasing the government’s commitment to strengthening professional diplomatic training.
Foreign Minister and Dean of the Cabinet, Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, is expected to deliver special remarks, while the Director General of the Foreign Service Institute, Mr. Reginald B. Goodridge Sr., will outline the objectives of the ambassadorial lecture series.
The release notes that other notable dignitaries expected to attend include Cllr. Deweh E. Gray, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Aliou Mamadou DIA, Resident Representative of UNDP, Amb. George W. Wallace Jr., Senior Advisor and Instructor at the FSI and Rev. Foday E. Karpeh, Instructor at the FSI.
Established in the 1950s, the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) serves as Liberia’s premier institution for the training of foreign service officers and diplomats. It aims to foster intellectual engagement on global political dynamics, cultural integration, conflict resolution, and foreign policy formulation.
The launch of the ambassadorial series underscores the Boakai administration’s focus on diplomacy, capacity-building, and Liberia’s active engagement in global affairs.
