Liberia: “Prophet Key” Eyes Endorsement of Samuel Kogar Days After Fraud-Related Detention

Monrovia – Just days after his release from police custody over alleged fraud, popular talk-show host Justine Oldpa Yeahzeahn, commonly known as “Prophet Key,” is poised to endorse Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) candidate Samuel Kogar in the upcoming by-election.

Prophet Key was spotted Tuesday in the company of Kogar and Liberia’s Vice President Jeremiah Koung, fueling speculation of an imminent endorsement.

The appearance came shortly after his release from police detention, where he had spent the night at the Liberia National Police (LNP) headquarters.

Prophet Key’s detention stemmed from allegations that he submitted fraudulent documents to the National Elections Commission (NEC). Police sources confirmed that the talk-show host was held for a night as investigators examined claims of document falsification in connection to his attempted candidacy.

The nature of the alleged falsification has not been publicly detailed, but authorities confirmed the matter falls under criminal violations of Liberia’s election laws.

He was expected to be forwarded to court following preliminary investigations, although no formal court appearance has been confirmed.

Though he has not made a public declaration, Prophet Key’s appearance with Kogar and Vice President Koung is being widely interpreted as a prelude to a formal endorsement. His influence, particularly among grassroots listeners and social media audiences, could offer a significant boost to Kogar’s campaign.
