Liberia: Prosecution’s First Witness Testifies in Miss Liberia Runner-Up Assault Case

Monrovia – The prosecution in the disorderly conduct case involving Miss Liberia First Runner-Up, Kindness Wilson, presented its first witness, Jumel Cox, on Tuesday at the Monrovia City Court.

Cox’s testimony implicated Wilson in a violent altercation, during which she allegedly slapped and physically assaulted her.

The incident, which occurred on March 31, 2025, on the campus of Stella Maris Polytechnic University in Sinkor, Monrovia, has sparked widespread attention after the altercation went viral on social media. Wilson faces charges of disorderly conduct, simple assault, and menacing in connection with the incident.

In her testimony, Cox described the altercation, stating, “I was shocked and felt humiliated” after Wilson slapped her. She explained that she immediately called her mother to inform her about the situation, and her mother advised her to report the incident to the police. “I came directly to Central as I was instructed to report the incident,” Cox told the court.

Prior to the witness’s testimony, Kindness Wilson denied the charges against her when they were read aloud in the courtroom.
