Fahnbulleh’s initiative focuses on individuals such as the “Yahna Boys,” scratch card sellers, small banana traders, and other micro-business owners, who are often the first to feel the impact of economic challenges. The District Seven lawmaker explained that this contribution aims to help stimulate economic growth and sustain livelihoods in the community.

Over 250 people have already benefitted from the donation, receiving amounts ranging from 10,000.00 to 25,000.00 Liberian Dollars. The funds are meant to provide relief to those facing financial difficulties, particularly in light of reduced external aid.

Rep. Fahnbulleh emphasized that the donation serves as a lifeline for local entrepreneurs struggling due to the withdrawal of key international aid. “As we work toward long-term economic empowerment, my focus remains on initiatives that directly benefit my constituents. This is just one of many steps we are taking to uplift our communities and foster local economic growth,” Fahnbulleh said.

The lawmaker expressed his commitment to continue supporting his constituents and ensuring they can thrive independently of external assistance.

Residents have praised Rep. Fahnbulleh for his generosity and leadership. Robert Flomo, in a post on Facebook, congratulated the lawmaker, calling the initiative a commendable demonstration of leadership and commitment to economic empowerment. “Your decision to donate two months of your salary is a testament to your dedication to economic empowerment, especially in light of the USAID aid withdrawal,” Flomo wrote. “By directly assisting street vendors, small traders, and young entrepreneurs, you are not only providing immediate relief but also fostering long-term economic resilience within the community.”

Other residents, such as Lawrence Singbeh and Abraham Peters, also expressed their gratitude, highlighting the importance of Fahnbulleh’s initiative in supporting the community’s economic growth and encouraging other leaders to take similar steps.

Peters added, “This is a great initiative for our people, this can help elevate those willing to make use of the funds and focus on their businesses. Thank you, Hon. Fahnbulleh, for your excellent gesture. Many of your colleagues are not willing to do what you have done.”
