The donation, presented on behalf of the Fund, aims to provide much-needed financial assistance to students pursuing their education at the seminary.

The Reverend Father Paul Voisard Memorial Fund, established in 2011, works to support the educational efforts of the Catholic Diocese of Liberia, particularly in helping underserved students.

The Fund’s Deputy Executive Director for Education and Manpower Development, Saye Julius Gondoun, explained that the donation would assist students at the St. Paul Seminary in Gbarnga and emphasized the Fund’s goal of honoring the humanitarian legacy of the late Reverend Father Paul Voisard, who worked for the Diocese of Gbarnga before the Liberian Civil War.

Gondoun noted that the Fund was set up to raise resources to help underprivileged students, particularly in Liberia, and has been supported by the Catholic Diocese of Columbus.

He confirmed that the Fund’s financial contributions would continue to support educational initiatives in the Diocese of Gbarnga, where Father Voisard had last served.

“This donation is an initial financial assistance to benefit the students at St. Paul Seminary,” Gondoun said, adding that the decision on how to distribute the funds would be left to the discretion of the Bishop’s Office and the administration of the Seminary.

In addition to the donation, Gondoun highlighted the Fund’s plans to provide scholarships and future financial assistance to other Catholic schools in the Diocese of Gbarnga, including St. Lawrence Catholic School in Ganta, St. Mary’s Catholic School in Sanniquellie, and St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Voinjama.

The Fund also expressed its gratitude to Bishop Anthony F. Bowah for his dedication to the Diocese and requested his spiritual guidance in ensuring that their efforts align with the values of the Gospel. Gondoun urged the Diocese and students to continue praying for the Fund’s mission to bring hope and support to those in need.

Bishop Bowah thanked the organization for its generous donation and reaffirmed the Diocese’s commitment to working with the Fund for the betterment of the Catholic Church in Liberia.

Father Boniface Tye and St. Paul Seminary student representative Soniaka Dedonnie Wesley also expressed their gratitude, emphasizing that the donation would greatly benefit the seminary’s students and their educational journey.

They pledged to continue their collaboration with the Fund in its efforts to support future priests, enhancing the Catholic Church’s mission of peace, justice, and prosperity.
